About Marlin

We have been arranging treatment in India for patients from abroad since 2012.

Marlin is a medical assistance company based in New Delhi. We work with a fixed group of accredited hospitals to arrange consultations, written cost estimates, visas and travel — most often for patients coming from Kenya, Nigeria and across East and West Africa. One coordinator handles your case from the first message to the flight home.

A coordinator, not a call centre

Arranging treatment abroad on your own means contacting hospitals one at a time, trying to assess doctors from another country, and piecing together costs, visas, flights and accommodation yourself — often from another time zone.

You send us your reports instead. A coordinator reviews them and takes your case to the departments best suited to it at our partner hospitals, then comes back with named specialists, a written estimate and a realistic timeline — usually within 24–48 hours.

If you go ahead, the same person handles the visa invitation letter, airport pickup, accommodation, an interpreter if you need one, and follow-up once you are home.

01

You send reports

Scans, discharge summaries, recent bloodwork — whatever you have. WhatsApp is fine.

02

We take it to the departments

Your case goes to the relevant departments at our partner hospitals. More than one option where more than one is appropriate.

03

You get an estimate

A written estimate covering the surgery, the hospital stay and the costs that quotes commonly leave out. Where a case can change once surgery begins, we tell you what would change and roughly by how much.

04

You decide

There is no obligation to proceed. If you go ahead, we handle the visa letter, travel and stay. If you don't, that's the end of it.

How we are paid

You don’t pay Marlin. The hospital does.

Marlin’s coordination service is free to patients. You pay the hospital directly, on the hospital’s own invoice and at its published tariff. There is no markup on your treatment cost for using Marlin.

Why a hospital pays for this

Every large Indian hospital runs an international patient department and spends money reaching patients abroad — advertising, exhibitions, representatives in other countries. A case that arrives with reports already assembled, questions already asked and paperwork in order costs the hospital less to take on than one it has to find and prepare itself. That fee comes out of the hospital’s international marketing budget, not your bill.

Does this affect which hospital we recommend?

No. The coordination fee is the same at every hospital we work with. We do not earn more by sending you to one hospital instead of another.

Where more than one partner hospital suits your case, you get written estimates from more than one and you choose. The hospital’s tariff is the same whether you come through Marlin or contact the hospital directly — if we were adding cost, going around us would save you money. It doesn’t.

What we coordinate

  • Getting your medical file to the appropriate hospital department
  • Written treatment estimates and comparison across hospitals
  • Visa invitation letters and supporting paperwork
  • Airport pickup, accommodation and interpreter support
  • Coordination with the treating team and follow-up after you return home

What we don’t do

  • Diagnose your condition or give medical advice — that comes from the treating doctor
  • Take treatment payments on the hospital's behalf
  • Guarantee treatment outcomes, dates or final costs
  • Choose a surgeon for you

Treatment payments always go directly to the hospital.

If anyone asks you to send treatment money to Marlin, do not do so. Hospital invoices are paid directly to the hospital.

Who we work with

A fixed group of partner hospitals

We work with a small number of hospitals rather than a long directory, so coordinators know the departments, the admission process and the people. Accreditation for each is listed on that hospital's own page.
