About Prof. Dr. Somashekhar S P
Prof. Dr. Somashekhar S P is Chairman of the Medical Advisory Board at Aster DM Healthcare (GCC & India) and Global Director of the Aster International Institute of Oncology, practising at Aster CMI Hospital, Bangalore, with over 30 years in medicine and more than two decades as a specialist onco-surgeon. He earned his MBBS from Mysore University, MS in General Surgery from NHL Medical College, Gujarat, and MCh in Surgical Oncology from Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute — holding the Gujarat University record for the highest individual marks in the MCh examination. He holds FRCS from both Edinburgh and Glasgow and FARIS (Robotics), with a robotic surgery fellowship from Roswell Park Cancer Centre, Buffalo, USA. He is internationally recognised as a pioneer of robotic onco-surgery, HIPEC and PIPAC in India and holds the Bulkley-Barry-Cooper Professorship at King's Health Partners, London.
